Understanding Volume Levels and Power on the myTRACKS
When the myTRACKS shipped in November, 2024, the first revision of the software was designed to ensure reliable operation at all mixes, volume levels and battery capacity. Because of this, the volume out of the internal speaker was purposefully kept at a level that some customers found too quiet.
However, some customers still found that the myTRACKS may crash under some conditions with the limited volume level. This crash is caused by the internal speaker pulling too much power, causing the voltage levels to drop, and the microprocessor that powers the myTRACKS to glitch.
Since that first version of software, we have made significant improvements to address this issue:
- All Instrument packs were remixed to remove audio frequencies that we found could pull too much power and crash the unit.
- The effects were modified to remove audio frequencies that we found could pull too much power and crash the unit
- A voltage monitoring system has been added to the software. If the software detects that the voltage is falling to a level that may cause a crash, the volume level is briefly reduced to prevent a crash.
If you are using software revision 1.6 or higher, the voltage monitoring system is in place. If you hear the myTRACKS suddenly going quiet, that is the monitor system doing its job. The easiest way to fix this is to turn the volume down. When the volume reduction system kicks in, the power button will change to yellow to indicate it is in the power reduction mode.
Also in software revision 1.6 and higher is a Volume Boost configuration option. You can learn about it here:
If you want maximum volume out of the myTRACKS, we have found the USB-C cable provides a more stable voltage. You can also replace your myTRACKS batteries with fresh batteries. We have found that rechargeable Lithium AA batteries like these work really well, providing more stable voltage through a charge cycle.
If you have a new myTRACKS, we highly recommend upgrading to the latest firmware.

We would like to thanks our early customers for their patience and support as we address these issues. The myTRACKS was designed as a music platform that will continue to grow with more downloadable sounds and features.
